The blueprint is there. 3-5-2 is how you play Spain and their possession. We utilized it famously in the 1-1 draw in the Euro 2012 opener and our 2-0 win in 2016 Euro round of 16.
Quick search of 2nd Half reveals Italy shading it at 50.4%. Maybe it's because he was a substitute On. As you wrote recently, when he is a substitute his production dips.
It's probably too late for Pinamonti when it comes to the Euro's, but I would definitely take him over Raspadori.
Would be hard to take Rasps spot cause he's a swiss army knife. He can play Prima punta, seconda punta and out wide while Pinamonti can only play central.
Not the greatest. I do wonder now if when Modric kicking the football into the crowd after he had his PK Saved, had an effect on Silva as he was standing at the spot for another minute at least while they have to retrieve the same football. Both Croats missed as well. Only mentioning as Italy play Croatia. Man City needed to take advantage of their Possession. RM were highly organized in Defence. Of all players to send them through, it was that swine Rudiger. I am not complaining that Inter are out (quite the contrary!) but Inter should have done better in the 1st Leg versus Atleti. Really should have been a 3-0 lead heading into the Metropolitano. Another poster commented on bad subs by Inzaghi Leg 2. Can't comment to that as I didn't watch Leg 2. Given BVB's domestic form, Inter would have liked their chances in the QF. Even if Milan doesn't mean anything to the current Italy team given no players on the team, they should take some solace in that they really did find themselves in the Group of Death seeing as how 2 of them are in the SF's. Forza PSG, Forza Gigio & Mbappé.
I love Rudiger. He's an annoying bastard, but he makes the opposing forwards' lives absolute hell. Great player.
Another goal for Gianluca Mancini. In the minute prior to the goal I was looking at his movement from his own end. Directed a teammate to pass back to Svilar. Collected a ball in his own end, became available for a pass, got into an advanced postion, bodied Pulisic, then was there for a rebound off of Pellegrini's shot off the post. Dedication to a close family friend that passed.
Zaniolo left Aston Villa's Conference League match due to injury. Looked like he would have to be carted off but managed to hobble off.
Good to see Pellegrini and Mancini playing so well. Very good news for gli Azzurri. Credit also to Atalanta for their run.
Milan is trash right now. Just a collection of mercenaries with a couple of talented players. They are an embarrassment to the tradition Berlusconi set.
I think El Shaarawy deserves a look for Euros. He's been good for Roma as a kind of jack-of-all-trades.
Yeah, he always plays well. He's one of these mysterious players that never quite gets the credit he deserves. My only issue is that he is 31, and I'd rather get younger players experience for WC26.
Any news about Zaniolo’s injury? I am trying to find something on the web. The only thing is that he left the game with an injury!
Can't find anything either. In the few minutes I spent on it, I see 2 polarizing opinions on Zaniolo. Say 90% of Villa fans don't want the club to pick up the option, then there are fervant Galatasaray fans following the progress of their player on loan wishing him well and absolutely loving him. Must be a trip playing for a top Turkish team (Galatasaray, Fenerbache, Besiektas). In my next life when I make it to the very top and after securing my 3rd Ballon D'Or, I'd want to finish my career playing in Turkey. As Chiellini said recently, most insane fanbases in Europe are Celtic and Galatasaray.
Berlusconi wanted to win. He wanted to own Italy and dominate European football. Gerry Cardinale wants to own the Oakland As of the 90s. He wants above all to make a great investment. He doesn't care so much about winning. He wants to buy cheap assets that he hopes will appreciate in value (including players).
I think it can be said for all foreign owners. Only exception seems to be Al Kebab or whatever his name is at PSG. Also the filthy rich Indonesian that owns Como. You don't buy a football team to make money. Didn't the same Berlusconi once make the comment that owning Milan was just a hobby? He made his billions elsewhere. EDIT: Why do you see Milan and Roma American owners all pushing for the city to build them a stadium? Milan and Inter are worth less than Juve simply because we own our stadium. Once the city of Milano and Roma build them a stadium they will flip it. See it in MLB all the time. Jeffrey Loria, for example.
I feel like El Shaarawy is one of those players that’s not super talented, but he is very hard working, which definitely can be useful for us! We’ll have to see who’s healthy and who’s injured and then see if we can take SES
